WATCH: The Premiere of "Summertime" on Playbill.com

The new interpretation of the Porgy and Bess classic celebrates the legacy of Anne Brown and Black History Month.

Women of Color on Broadway's (WOCoB) production of "Summertime" is a fusion of opera, jazz, and spoken word intended to bring today's generation our interpretation of the classic lullaby. It incorporates a dance montage reflecting the interdependent mother-daughter relationship that is the backbone of African-American culture. This production focuses on the next generation of creatives of color.

"Summertime" is sponsored by MAC Cosmetics, and premieres on Monday February 1st, 2021 on Playbill.com in celebration of Black History Month. Women of Color on Broadway Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
