Social Causes and Injustices

#BroadwaySpeaks for Social Causes and Injustices (#BroadwaySpeaks for short) is an initiative launched by Women of Color on Broadway Inc. to support non-profit organizations and other communities who are dedicated to supporting social causes and ending injustices within the United States or beyond.

Every year, WOCoB will partner with at least one(1) business or non-profit organization to bring awareness to a social issue in hopes to bring change for a better society. We will provide assistance in campaign development, live event coordination, social media strategy, and fundraising with notable Broadway performers.

This year, we are partnering with Amnesty International to help end police brutality. We also launched our healthcare campaign with Pressed Juicery to help aid healthcare workers on the frontline treating COVID-19 patients.

As members of the Broadway community, the board and staff of WOCoB understands its value in times of a social crises. WOCoB pledges to use their platforms to speak out on any injustices or causes that may occur in the United States and beyond. We encourage you to do the same!

TAKE ACTION today by supporting our initiative! See details below.

#BroadwaySpeaks for HealthCare Workers

WOCoB partners with Pressed Juicery to donate free 2000+ Green ACV, Elderberry Lemonade, and Strawberry Pitaya juices to doctors, nurses, and additional healthcare workers in Jersey City’s Medical Center, to boost their immune systems as they help COVID-19 patients recover.

#BroadwaySpeaks for The PEACE ACT

WOCoB partners with Amnesty International USA to bring awareness to the new petition that calls Congress to reapproach the PEACE ACT. The PEACE ACT will make it a federal law for police officers to use guns and other violent weapons as a last resort in the United States. If this act passes, any police department who does not abide by this new regulation will be restricted of federal funding.
