OUR FOUNDING MOTHERS

Sister-duo Victoria and Alexia Velazquez founded Women of Color on Broadway to empower the talents of women of color in the Broadway community.

As the Executive Director, Victoria, an alumna of New York University and Berklee College of Music,  guides the organization through impactful campaigns, strategic partnerships, and innovative fundraising initiatives tailored to our artistic and education programs.

Simultaneously, Broadway actress and Artistic Director, ALEXIA, draws on her extensive experience in music, theater, and media-arts to shape the organization’s creative vision. Together, the sisters blend inclusive performances with dynamic learning opportunities, creating a space where diverse talents can truly thrive in the vibrant world of Broadway.

Join us as we embark on this transformative journey led by our founders, dedicated to empowering women of color and enriching the world of musical theater on Broadway.
